Graphic Design Student I am Most Excited to study the gesture technique of drawing. My most memorable experience with art would be graduating from Etude High School of arts and academics. There we had the chance to experience the different forms of arts such as music, writing, acting, dance, drawing etc. My preferred method of communication is through text/written responses. This method gives me the chance to compose a thoughtful response. A little about me; I enjoy nature, hiking, fishing camping etc. I love being creative. I am inspired by music , graphic design and fashion. I would have to say Kanye West is my favorite artist of all time. I also enjoy sports. The Milwaukee Bucks are my favorite team. |

I thought that these exercises have really helped me develop my understanding of gesture drawing. Above I was practicing drawing the gesture of one of my sons action figures sightly posed on an object. These action figures are full of gesture and and different contour. I enjoyed drawing all of them but I think that my, 4 min, 8 and 9 min gesture drawings were the best. During the 4 min exercise I practiced the sustained gesture drawing technique to capture to strong gesture of the figures muscular body . During the 8 and 9 min exercises I combined some line and mass together to develop the strong pose. I started off by using a quick/ light gesture and then worked from general to detailed. I tried to purposely draw strong thick gesture lines towards the subjects forearms and hands to show the "turn of the fist" at the end of the punch. I also used scribble line to help develop the mass and portray the strength of the subject. I often found myself to want to keep going because there was much more information to draw.
